Welcome to the Collingwood Little Athletics Website
Website Reconstruction
We are developing a new website which will be available shortly. In the meantime we will keep this site up to date with the essential information only. We ask for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
2011/12 Summer Registrations
It may not feel like it but the Summer Season is coming. This year we are running registration in conjunction with our first track day on Friday 9 September. Registrations will commence at 5:00pm and our first program, which is a Little Bolter’s program (see below), will commence at 5:45.
We encourage you to be there early so that your registration can be completed before the program starts.
At the first session on 9 September we will also be holding parent orientation to familiarise parents with Little Athletics and equip them to be able to assist with future programs.
Registering
Registrations for the 2011/12 Summer Season must be done on-line. Please click on the ‘Registrations’ button on the left of this page and follow the instructions. If you do not know your username and password, use the ‘Username & Password’ button on the top of the LA Vic Registration site or email us at registrar@collingwoodlittleathletics.org.au with your name, address and date of birth and we will email your username and password to you.

Come and Try
Collingwood Little Athletics Centre runs a ‘come and try’ program that allows kids to try athletics to see if it suits them before they commit registering.
Any child can come to a maximum of two competition days (in addition to Little Bolters but excluding Open Day) for a fee of $5.00 per time.
This should give them sufficient experience to know if they wish to continue with athletics and become a registered athlete. For more information please contact us.
Uniform
All registered athletes are required to wear the approved uniform. In particular, athletes are required to wear the Collingwood singlet.
Singlets are available for sale at the club for $35.00. Payment must be either cash or cheque. More details about the uniform are contained in the Handbook which you will receive at registration.
Committee
If you have any questions, please feel free to send an email to the address found under 'contact us' at the bottom of this page or contact one of the committee members directs. The committee members and their contact details can be found be selecting 'committee' on the left of this page.

Did you know that your Summer Registration also covers you for the winter Cross Country season? Cross Country running is a fun and fabulous way to keep fit over the winter, and it's also a great way to get out and about and visit many of the Eastern Suburbs best parks. Collingwood competes in the “Eastern 7” competition, which comprises seven Eastern Metro Centres.
For more information, and to put your name down for Cross Country season, call our Cross Country manager Bev Scott on 9464 3571 and also check the Handbook.Collingwood Open Day

TRAINING
We are still to decide when Tuesday Training will commence. Please watch this space for more information
Sessions will run from 5pm to approximately 6pm, and are for U9 athletes and older.
We are endeavouring to make these sessions more structured than in the past, so we ask that all participants arrive on time in order to do a group warm up. The group will then be split up into smaller groups, and training will focus on 2-3 different events each week – depending upon availability of coaches.
All parents and carers are invited to assist with training sessions, and if you are interested in doing a coaching course, the club is very happy to cover the cost of the course. The more coaches we have on board, the better and more comprehensive our training sessions can become.
Coaching Courses
Introduction to Coaching Courses ( ITCC ). The courses have been booked and we are pleased to advise that there are 16 courses available spread across the State, starting in mid September and finishing in mid November. The registrations are now live on the VLAA website through the online system.
Click here to see a summary sheet. This sheet will take you directly to the registration form for each course listed by clicking on the “Register Here” link alongside each course.
We would love as many parents as possible to complete these courses and the club will pay for parents to attend. The more coaches we have the better we will be able to support our athletes and share the responsibility of the coaching.
VLAA Junior Development Squad
The VLAA equivalent of the AVIS Development squad is the JDS – the Junior Development Squad. The JDS is open to all athletes in the U12-U15 age groups who meet certain qualifying standards. U11 athletes may qualify any time during the season for entry into the JDS the following year. A number of our Collingwood athletes are already members of this squad, and have found it to be of great value and also lots of fun! So if you are interested in applying and you want to find out if you meet the qualifying standards click here. There is an application form on the VLAA website here.
