Relay calender 2008-09

Sat 11th Oct. Relay Fun Day CLAC
# Relay Fun Day is an informal introduction to relays with an emphasis on baton changing skills, participation and having fun. For all age groups.

Tues 14th Oct. First Relay Training – 5.15pm
# CLAC coaches will assist with skills development and training of Team Managers (i.e. parents/carers) to help train their teams.

Sun 26th Oct. Box Hill Invitation Relay Day – entries by 18th Oct.
# To be held at Hagenauer Reserve, Barwon St. Box Hill North (Mel. 47 C7). This day is a great opportunity for newly formed and reformed teams to practice their skills in a big arena without the pressures of Region. There are medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and our experience is it is a great day to get practice and enjoy the team experience. There are no protests allowed and the emphasis is on participation and skill development.

Sun 16th Nov. Region Relays – entries by 3rd Nov.
# To be held at Ringwood Little Athletics Centre, Proclamation Park, Ringwood, Melways 49 F12. CLAC is a member of the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR). All Clubs in this region compete on this day and based on the results may progress to State Relays. This is a more formal setting and having participated in Box Hills invitation day can be a helpful preparation.

Sun 14th Dec. State Relays
# Are held at Olympic Park. At State Relays all teams who qualify or progress from each of the Victorian Little Athletics Regions run against each other. Medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They are the state champions.

Note: Relays are a great opportunity to team up with the athletes you usually compete against. Box Hill and Region Relay competition is available to athletes from U9 to U15. However all the kids enjoy the fun of relays. Please feel free to approach the desk on competition days or any of the committee members if you have any queries about joining a relay team. Joining a team means a commitment for parents/carers to help with officiating at the Region and State events.
