Collingwood LAC's 40 th Anniversay Open Day was held in perfect conditions on Sunday 10 February.
There was a huge turnout, with 191 kids from 23 Centres turning up to compete; 95 athletes from Collingwood and 96 from other Centres. A great day was had by all, with a couple of Club records broken, and a large number of personal bests achieved.
The special 40 th Anniversary 100m handicap events were particularly exciting – with commemorative golden cups awarded to the winner of both the girls and boys races.
Open Day is an annual event that could not take place without a huge effort from the Organising Committee, and assistance from the many parents and friends who volunteered to help out and run events on the day. Thanks to all of those people, however a few deserve special mention:
Nick Tapp , who spent many long nights collating the entries and putting the program together
Our fantastic Canteen Manager Nancy Waqairatu who organised our striking black and white 40 th Anniversary Cake (which was speedily devoured by athletes and parents alike!)
Lee Bradley for doing the handicapping for the special 100m events.
And finally, to all the athletes who got out there, did their best and had lots of fun in the process - Well Done!
The Athletes Foot - Greensborough.
Mauro Bros. Meats - Fairfield.
